If a staff member is unable to fulfill the requirement of an assigned shift, the shift can be requested to be dropped. Like the other request types within your account, the ability to drop shifts must first be enable. Navigate to the Settings (gear icon) - Schedule - Preferences page, and enable the Staff can drop shifts. option.
A Shift Drop request will be sent directly to the staff members Supervisor for approval, or rejection. However, if the staff member does not have a Supervisor assigned via the Profile Details Page, the request will need to be approved / rejected by an Admin level user.
To view, approve, or reject a Shift Drop request, click the Requests tab found in the upper right hand corner of the account, and click the Shift Drop button. If there are pending Shift Drop requests, a counter will be displayed to the left of the Shift Drop text.
The Requests | Shift Drop page will display a list of requests for a one month range, but you can easily adjust this by selecting a starting / ending date range using the calendar fields. Along this same row, any already approved requests, or requests that have been rejected / canceled, can be hidden by clicking the checkboxes to the left of the options seen in the image below.
